Switzerland’s support is not only going to the camps, but also to host communities

Swiss Ambassador to Bangladesh Nathalie Chuard has said there is growing global expectation to address the root causes of the Rohingya crisis and prepare the ground for the sustainable return of Rohingya refugees to their place of origin in Myanmar.

However, Ambassador Chuard also said the conditions required for a sustainable, voluntary, safe and dignified return are not there yet.

Participating in an interactive meeting with Mak Projects MD on ‘Transforming Hyderabad into a global city’, KTR said, “When the State was formed, we not only wanted to prove to ourselves but also to naysayers who questioned our ability and vision for the State. Since then, we have achieved success in all the spheres.”

ဒီအစီရင်ခံစာနဲ့ ပတ်သက်လို့ မြန်မာအစိုးရနဲ့ ICJ တရားရုံးက ခုအချိန်အထိ လူသိရှင်ကြားထုတ် ပြန်ကြေညာ ခြင်း မပြုဘဲ လျှို့ဝှက်ထားတဲ့အတွက် အစီရင်ခံစာမှာ ဘာတွေပါလဲဆိုတာ မသိရသေးပါဘူး။

ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ်မှာ လူမျိုးတုံးသတ်ဖြတ်မှုတွေရှိခဲ့တယ်လို့ စွပ်စွဲပြီး ဂမ်ဘီယာနိုင်ငံက တရားစွဲထားတဲ့ အမှုနဲ့ပတ်သက်လို့ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံက အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာတရားရုံး (ICJ) ထံ နိုဝင်ဘာ ၂၃ ရက်က ဒုတိ ယအကြိမ် အစီရင်ခံစာ တင်သွင်းလိုက်ပါတယ်။

ဒီအစီရင်ခံစာနဲ့ ပတ်သက်လို့ မြန်မာအစိုးရနဲ့ ICJ တရားရုံးက ခုအချိန်အထိ လူသိရှင်ကြားထုတ်ပြန် ကြေညာခြင်းမပြုဘဲ လျှို့ဝှက်ထားတဲ့အတွက် အစီရင်ခံစာမှာ ဘာတွေပါလဲဆိုတာ မသိရသေးပါဘူး။
ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ်အတွက် လွတ်လပ်သောစုံစမ်းစစ်ဆေးရေးကော်မရှင် (ICOE)ရဲ့ အစီရင်ခံစာပါ ဖြစ် စဉ် ၁၃ ခုနဲ့ ပတ်သက်လို့ ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ်ထဲမှာ ARSA နဲ့ အလိုတူပူးပေါင်းပါဝင်သူတွေ၊နယ်ခြားစောင့် ရဲတပ်ဖွဲ့ဝင်တွေနဲ့ ဒေသခံတိုင်းရင်းသားတွေ ကျူးလွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ အမှုပေါင်း ၁၃၉ မှု ရှိပြီး ၁၁၀ မှုကိုအရေး ယူထားတယ်လို့ ပြည်ထောင်စုရှေ့နေချုပ်ရုံးက နိုဝင်ဘာ ၂၃ ရက်နေ့မှာပဲ ထုတ်ပြန်ထားပါတယ်။

မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအနေနဲ့ ခုလို ဒုတိယအကြိမ် အစီရင်ခံစာတင်သွင်းတာနဲ့ ပတ်သက်ပြီး ကြိုဆိုတဲ့ အ ကြောင်း ဒါပေမဲ့ တရားရုံးမှာ အချိန်မီ အစီရင်ခံစာတင်သွင်းရုံနဲ့တော့ မလုံလောက်သေးဘူးလို့ Global Justice Center က ဥပဒေရေးရာဒါရိုက်တာ ဂရန့်ရှူဘင်က ကြေညာချက် ထုတ်ပြန် ပြော ပါတယ်။

ICJ တရားရုံးက ကြားဖြတ်အစီအမံအမိန့်ချပြီးကတည်းက မြန်မာအနေနဲ့ ခွဲခြားနှိမ်ချမှုတွေရဲ့ အခြေ ခံအကြောင်းတရားတွေကိုဘာမှ အရေးယူဆောင်ရွက်တာမရှိသလို အပြစ်ကျူးလွန်သူတွေ ဒဏ် ခတ် မခံရတဲ့အတွက် ရိုဟင်ဂျာတွေအပေါ် လူမျိုးတုံးသတ်ဖြတ်မှုအန္တရာယ်ဆက်ရှိနေတယ်လို့ ဂရန့်ရှူဘင်က ပြောပါတယ်။

ဂမ်ဘီယာနိုင်ငံက တရားစွဲထားတဲ့ ဒီအမှုနဲ့ ပတ်သက်လို့ မြန်မာအစိုးရအနေနဲ့လိုက်နာဆောင်ရွက်ဖို့ ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ ဇန်နဝါရီ ၂၃ ရက်နေ့မှာ ICJ တရားရုံးက ကြားဖြတ်အစီအမံ ၄ ချက် ချမှတ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ကြားဖြတ်အစီအမံ ၄ ချက်ကတော့ (၁) လူမျိုးတုံး သတ်ဖြတ်မှုတားဆီးရေးဆိုင်ရာ နိုင်ငံတကာသ ဘောတူညီချက် အပိုဒ် (၂) မှာ ဖော်ပြထားတဲ့ ကျူးလွန်မှုတွေ ဖြစ်မလာအောင် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအနေနဲ့ အကာအကွယ်ပေးရေး အစီအမံတွေဆောင်ရွက်သွားဖို့၊ (၂) မြန်မာစစ်တပ် ဖြစ်စေ ပြည်သူ့စစ်အဖွဲ့ ဖြစ်စေ အခြားအဖွဲ့အစည်းတခုခုကဖြစ်စေ ဂျီနိုဆိုဒ်စာချုပ် အပိုဒ်(၂)ပါ လူမျိုးတုန်းသတ်ဖြတ်မှု မြောက်တဲ့ လုပ်ရပ်တွေ မကျူးလွန်ဖို့၊ (၃) သက်သေအထောက်အထား တွေကို မဖျက်ပစ်ဖို့ (၄) ဂျီနိုဆိုဒ်သဘောတူညီချက်ကို ချိုးဖောက်မှုရှိမရှိ တရားရုံးက စစ်ဆေးနေစဉ်မှာ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံဘက်က ဆောင်ရွက်မှု တိုးတက်မှုဖြစ်စဉ်ကိုလည်း ၄ လအတွင်း တရားရုံးကို အစီရင်ခံစာတင်ဖို့နဲ့ နောက်ပိုင်း မှာ ၆ လ တကြိမ် ပုံမှန်အစီရင်ခံစာတင်ဖို့ တွေပါဝင်ပါတယ်။

ဒီအမှုနဲ့ ပတ်သက်တဲ့ ပထမဆုံးအကြိမ် အစီရင်ခံစာကိုတော့ မြန်မာအစိုးရက ပြီးခဲ့တဲ့ မေလ ၂၃ ရက်က အပြည်ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာတရားရုံး (ICJ) ထံ တင်သွင်းခဲ့ပါတယ်။

All over the world, we are witnessing rising levels of violent hate crime inspired by religious ideology for which there seems to be no lasting and sustainable solutions.

For example, India is now one of the top five countries in the world known for physical hostility against religious minorities, according to Pew Research.

For a start, the call should be to increase awareness of the phenomenon, as well as cultivate a sense of empathy with victims of religious violence and persecuted minorities who are not our co-religionists or compatriots.

GUWAHATI: A complaint lodged by a train passenger with a toll-free number led railway officials to 14 suspected Rohingya refugees.

The persons, arrested from a train at New Jalpaiguri station of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), had apparently fled a refugee camp in Bangladesh. They had boarded the train in Assam’s Badarpur.

Foreign ministers of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation countries are set to meet together in Niger today while the Rohingya genocide case with the International Court of Justice is expected to come up among the top agendas.

OIC secretary general Yousef Al-Othaimeen said in a statement that the council of foreign ministers would discuss how to raise funds for the Rohingya case at the ICJ in addition to other issues concerning the Muslim world like Palestinian cause, fight against violence, extremism and terrorism, Islamophobia and religious defamation.

OIC secretariat set the stage for the two-day 47th session of 57-member OIC’s council of foreign ministers meeting in Niger’s capital Niamey from Nov 27-28.

Human rights lawyers and activists said on Monday (23) that Myanmar is continuing to commit genocide against Rohingya Muslims in breach of orders by the UN’s top court.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in January rejected arguments made personally by Myanmar’s civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi in The Hague and imposed urgent interim measures on the predominantly Buddhist nation.

Sejumlah pegiat hak asasi manusia menyebut pemerintah Myanmar tidak berhenti melakukan genosida atau pembersihan etnis Rohingya meski negara itu sudah digugat di Mahkamah Internasional (ICJ).

"Genosida masih berlangsung. Pemerintah dan militer Myanmar sudah memperhitungkan mereka tetap aman jika mengabaikan tindakan sementara dan tidak akan menghadapi konsekuensi apapun," kata Presiden Organisasi Burma Rohingya, Tun Khin, seperti dilansir AFP, Selasa (24/11).

La Birmania, a maggioranza Buddista, sta continuando a perpetrare il genocidio contro la minoranza Rohingya, di fede musulmana, nonostante gli ordini delle Nazioni Unite. L’allarme è stato lanciato da attivisti e avvocati che si occupano di diritti umani.

A gennaio, il tribunale internazionale di giustizia ICJ ha respinto le argomentazioni della leader Birmana, Aung San Suo Kyi, che si è auto difesa alla corte dell’Aja. Il tribunale ha inoltre imposto misure temporanee ma urgenti sulla nazione.

La ICJ ha ordinato alla Birmania di fermare il genocidio, di non eliminare le prove dei crimini commessi contro i Rohingya e di presentare un resoconto alle UN ogni sei mesi.

Hyderabad: AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday challenged the BJP to show the names of 100 Rohingya refugees on the voters’ list, after a BJP leader had claimed that 40,000 Rohingya had succeeded in getting listed as voters. 

Speaking at election meetings in Mallepally and Red Hills on Sunday night, Owaisi asked that if Rohingya were present in the city in that large numbers, why were Union home minister Amit Shah, the home ministry and the Intelligence Bureau quiet. “What are they doing? Exile them. What is the connection with us,” Owaisi asked.

In the wide-ranging “Let Us Dream: The Path to A Better Future,” Francis also says the COVID-19 pandemic should spur governments to consider permanently establishing a universal basic income.

In the book, a 150-page collaboration with his English-language biographer, Austen Ivereigh, Francis speaks of economic, social and political changes he says are needed to address inequalities after the pandemic ends. It goes on sale on Dec. 1.
