Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained four Rohingya refugees near Lalmonirhat's Patgram border on Friday afternoon.
The detainees are Abdullah, 24, his wife Sharifa Begum, 19, their daughter, 27-month-old Rinus Bibi, and Amena Begum, 15.
Ferdous Wahid, officer-in-charge (OC) of Patgram Police Station, said the Rohingyas were roaming near the corridor post area of Patgram upazila's Dahagram Union border on Friday afternoon.

DHAKA, Jan 2 (Reuters) - The United Nations will increase the food ration for each Rohingya refugee in Bangladesh by $2 a month, to $10, from Jan. 1, the World Food Programme (WFP) said on Tuesday, as it thanked donors for coming to the rescue of a cash-strapped effort.

Myanmar jails more than 100 Rohingya for travelling 'without documents'

Myanmar authorities have sentenced 112 Rohingya, including a dozen children, to between two and five years in prison for attempting to travel to Malaysia "without legal documents", state media reported Tuesday.
The group were arrested last month in the southern Ayeyarwady region and sentenced on January 6, according to a report by the Global New Light of Myanmar, which cited local police.
The children were transferred to a "youth training school" near commercial hub Yangon on January 8, the newspaper reported, without giving further details.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has sought continued support of the European Union (EU) including Italy to ensure safe, dignified and sustainable return of the forcibly displaced Rohingyas.
“The Bangladesh prime minister also expressed thanks to the EU including Italy for their support to the cause of the Rohingyas,” said a nine-point joint statement issued on the outcomes of bilateral talks between Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her Italian counterpart Giuseppe Conte in Rome on Wednesday.

YANGON—Myanmar’s navy said on Monday it is traveling to the Gulf of Thailand to take part in a five-day maritime exercise led by the United States with seven ASEAN navies.
