KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 — The police have deployed an Air Operations Force (PGU) helicopter to track down the remaining Rohingya detainees who are still at large after escaping from the Sungai Bakap Immigration Detention Depot yesterday.

A monitoring group in Myanmar has appealed for international action, expressing concern over the torture and murder of anti-coup protesters in the Southeast Asian nation after the military broadcast images of six young detainees bearing severe signs of abuse.

56 Suspects appear in Sittwe Township Court over Alleged Connection with Arakan Army

Fifty Six suspects’ detainees from six townships of Rakhine State were on Thursday arraigned in Sittwe Township court over an alleged engaging with Arakan Army (AA) that is fighting central Burmese government for more autonomy.

Among those suspects, (41) villagers are from different regions of Mrauk U, five villagers are from Kyauk Taw, three villagers are from Minbra and each villagers from Pauk Taw, Rathidaung and Ponna Gyunt townships respectively along with two monks.
