Military council delegation led by Lt Gen Phone Myat visits Dhaka, discusses with Bangladesh chief of the defense staff

A three-member Myanmar military council delegation led by lieutenant general Phone Myat met with the Bangladesh chief of the defense staff general SM Shafiuddin Ahmed at Bangladesh Army Headquarters on 26 October last.

Both the generals discussed various issues related to the development of military ties between the two neighbouring countries including the exchange of high-ranking military officers. Phone Myat urged the Bangladesh authority to cooperate in joint natural disaster managementand sharing of relevant information.

Bangladesh Army has asked the Myanmar Army to maintain more caution in conducting its operations along the common border areas.

A three member delegation of Myanmar Army led by Lt Gen Phone Myat, Command Bureau of Special Operation visited Bangladesh Army Chief General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed at the Army Headquarters on October 26, according to a press release of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued on Thursday night.

The delegation highlighted the ongoing security situation in Myanmar during the visit apart from exchanging courtesies. It said they are trying to keep their country's peace and discipline under control while maintaining mutual friendship with Bangladesh.

A three-member delegation of Myanmar army met Bangladesh Army in Dhaka, in a new turn of development, when the two sides discussed working on regional peace and security and quick repatriation of the Rohingyas.

Bangladesh Army reminded the Myanmar Army of maintaining caution while conducting any campaign in the bordering areas.

The Myanmar delegation led by Lt Gen Phone Myat, Command Bureau of Special Operation, made a courtesy call on Bangladesh Army Chief Gen SM Shafiuddin Ahmed at the Army Headquarters on October 26, according to a statement issued on ISPR website yesterday (October 27, 2022).
