Turkey promises continued humanitarian assistance

Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ramis Sen, has said that his country is standing alongside the oppressed Rohingya community and will continue to provide humanitarian aid for them as long as they are in Bangladesh.

According to a press release, Ambassador Sen expressed Turkey's commitment to enhancing the education, culture, mental development, and overall quality of life for the Rohingyas.

Give humanitarian assistance to Rohingya refugees: Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has requested the UN to provide humanitarian assistance for the Rohingyas in Bhasan Char, where a housing facility has been developed for one lakh Rohingyas.

"The Foreign Minister explained the Secretary General of the measures taken by the Government in Bhasan char and requested the UN's support for humanitarian assistance there for the Rohingyas," said Bangladesh's Permanent Mission to the UN in New York in a statement today, referring to a virtual meeting between them.

Momen has been visiting the USA since February 22. He already spoke to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken over phone, held meeting with US Congresswoman Grace Meng.

United States Announces New Humanitarian Assistance for Displaced Rohingya and Members of Other Affected Communities in Bangladesh and Burma



On March 3, the United States announced more than $59 million in additional humanitarian assistance for Rohingya refugees and host communities in Bangladesh and internally displaced Rohingya and members of other affected communities in Burma. This funding will help address the emergency needs of more than 900,000 refugees in Bangladesh, many of whom are Rohingya women and children from Rakhine State, Burma, as well as the needs of Bangladeshi host communities. This funding will also provide life-saving assistance to internally displaced persons, including Rohingya, and members of other affected communities in Burma, including those affected by the fighting between the Burmese military and the Arakan Army.
