ရိုဟင်ဂျာဒုက္ခသည်များကို ကာကွယ်ပေးရေး လုပ်ပိုင်ခွင့်အပ်နှင်းခံထားရသည့် ဘင်္ဂလားဒေ့ရှ် အထူးရဲတပ်ဖွဲ့သည် ရိုဟင်ဂျာဒုက္ခသည်များကို ခြိမ်းခြောက်ငွေညှစ်ခြင်း၊ အနှောင့်အယှက်ပေး တိုက်ခိုက်ခြင်းနှင့် မှားယွင်းစွာ ဖမ်းဆီးခြင်းများ ရှိနေကြောင်း လူ့အခွင့်အရေး စောင့်ကြည့်ရေးအဖွဲ့ HRW က အင်္ဂါနေ့တွင် ပြောသည်။

နိုင်ငံမဲ့ လူနည်းစု တစ်သန်းနီးပါး ရှိနေရာ ဒုက္ခသည်စခန်းများကို လက်နက်ကိုင်ရဲတပ်ရင်း APB က စီမံခန့်ခွဲနေခြင်း ဖြစ်သည်။ အဆိုပါ ဒုက္ခသည်စခန်းများတွင် ရှိနေသူအများစုမှာ အိမ်နီးချင်း မြန်မာ နိုင်ငံတွင် စစ်တပ်၏ ဖြိုခွင်းမှုကြောင့် ထွက်ပြေးခိုလှုံလာကြသူ အများစု ဖြစ်သည်။ မြန်မာစစ်တပ် ၏ ဖြိုခွင်းမှုကို လက်ရှိ၌ ကုလသမဂ္ဂက လူမျိုးတုံးသတ်ဖြတ်မှုအဖြစ် စုံစမ်းလျက်ရှိသည်။

HRW accuses APBn of extortion, arbitrary arrests of Rohingya refugees

Human Rights Watch (HRW) today alleged that Bangladesh's Armed Police Battalion (APBn) is committing extortion, arbitrary arrests, and harassment of Rohingya refugees with impunity. The refugees are facing violence from criminal gangs and armed groups and therefore are already vulnerable, said the rights watchdog in a report released today.

The police unit has been in charge of security of the camps since 2020.

"Refugees and humanitarian workers report that safety has deteriorated under the APBn's oversight due to increased police abuses as well as criminal activity. Some refugees allege collusion between APBn officers and armed groups and gangs operating in the camps," said the report.

Another 1008 Rohingyas on their way to Chittagong for Bhasanchar

Another 1,006 Rohingyas have left for Chittagong from Ukhia in Cox's Bazar to Bhasanchar in Noakhali. The law enforcers are taking the Rohingya bus convoy to Chittagong for the first time through tight security at around 1:15 pm on Wednesday. They are scheduled to reach Chittagong at night. Besides, more than five hundred Rohingyas will be sent to Chittagong in the second phase in the afternoon. They will be transferred to Bhasanchar from Chittagong on Thursday.

Earlier, 21,505 Rohingyas from various camps in Ukhia and Teknaf were shifted to Bhasanchar. A total of 22,511 Rohingyas were sent to Bhasanchar. Rohingya relocation activities in Bhasanchar are being conducted by the Office of the Commissioner for Refugee Relief and Repatriation (RRRC), various law enforcement agencies and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) including the Armed Police Battalion (APBN).
