2 militants killed in separate clashes at Rohingya camp

Two members of the terrorist groups Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) and Rohingya Solidarity Organisation (RSO) were killed in a clash at the Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya.

The attacks took place on Tuesday (3 October) night and Wednesday (4 October) morning.

Fighting erupts in Myanmar; junta to ‘consider’ ASEAN plan

Ethnic minority Karen insurgents attacked a Myanmar army outpost near the Thai border on Tuesday in some of the most intense clashes since a military coup nearly three months ago threw the country into crisis.

The Karen National Union (KNU), Myanmar's oldest rebel force, said it had captured the army camp on the west bank of the Salween river, which forms the border with Thailand.

The Myanmar military later hit back against the insurgents with air strikes, the KNU and Thai authorities said.

Clashes between the Tatmadaw and the AA took place today on the border between Maungdaw and Rathedaung townships, according to reports from locals. Fighting occurred between Maungdaw’s Inn Din village and Ko Tan Kauk which lies in Rathedaung.

One resident from Koe Tan Kauk says he heard the sound of shooting from around 10am to around midday. After a heavy downpour the shooting had stopped, he said.

More refugees flee fighting in Rakhine

Fighting between the Tatmadaw (military) and the Arakan Army (AA) in Rakhine State’s Minbya township has intensified and the number of refugees has increased to nearly 6000 over the past 10 days, a state official said on Tuesday.

Minbya township MP U Hla Thein Aung said that aid for the refugees is urgently needed.
