Defence forces destroy two junta fighter jets

The Kachin. Independence Army (KIA) claims to have destroyed two Chengdu F-7 fighter jets at Nampong Air Force Base, using a rocket launcher, at about 7:00 a.m. on 24 September.

Monsoon rain destroys 273 Rohingya shelters

At least 11 Rohingyas were injured and 273 shelters were destroyed during three days of continuous rain in Cox’s Bazar settlements, according to UN Refugee Agency.

More than 900,000 Rohingya refugees, who escaped persecution in Myanmar’s Rakhine state since August 2017, are living in the settlements.

An estimated 350mm of rain fell in 72 hours from Monday and more downpours are expected throughout the next week, with four months of the monsoon to go.

According to preliminary reports, there have been 26 landslides, UNHCR said.

YANGON — Up to 12 Arakan Army camps were destroyed by the Tatmadaw in a coordinated operation with the Indian army that ended early this month, Indian publications have reported.

The operation targeting AA camps in Rakhine State near India’s Mizoram State came ahead of a Tatmadaw strike on the headquarters of a Naga rebel group in Sagaing Region, they reported.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen today said as over 1.2 million Rohingyas are living in Cox's Bazar district of the country, much of Bangladesh's forest is getting destroyed creating environmental disasters.

Rohingya villages 'destroyed' in Myanmar, images show
More than 1,200 homes have been razed in villages inhabited by Myanmar's Muslim Rohingya minority in the past six weeks, Human Rights Watch says.

The group has released a batch of new satellite images that it says show 820 structures were destroyed between 10-18 November.

(New York)New satellite imagery of Burma’s Rakhine State shows 820 newly identified structures destroyed in five different ethnic Rohingya villages between November 10-18, 2016, Human Rights Watch said today. The Burmese government should without further delay invite the United Nations to assist in an impartial investigation of the widespread destruction of villages.
