The 6th border guard police battalion in Inn Din of southern Maungdaw township is now completely occupied by the Arakha Army (AA) fighters on Sunday morning after thousands of junta soldiers deserted the base, said local residents.

A Myanmar ethnic armed group said on Monday it had captured a military command and taken hundreds of junta personnel prisoner in western Rakhine state, the latest blow to the military.

Elite Bangladeshi forces arrested a ringleader of a Myanmar separatist group on Friday from the southeastern Cox’s Bazar refugee camp.

Hafez Nur Mohammad, camp resident and commander of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), was captured by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an overnight operation, the unit's Legal and Media Wing Director Khandaker Al Moin announced.
