56 Suspects appear in Sittwe Township Court over Alleged Connection with Arakan Army

Fifty Six suspects’ detainees from six townships of Rakhine State were on Thursday arraigned in Sittwe Township court over an alleged engaging with Arakan Army (AA) that is fighting central Burmese government for more autonomy.

Among those suspects, (41) villagers are from different regions of Mrauk U, five villagers are from Kyauk Taw, three villagers are from Minbra and each villagers from Pauk Taw, Rathidaung and Ponna Gyunt townships respectively along with two monks.

Arakan Army Launch a Full-scale Attack after Rocket Striking on Myanmar Navy Ships

Arakan Army(AA) run-up to a full-scale attack after firing rocket attack on Myanmar Navy ships in Myebon and Rathidaung townships respectively on July 19 and 20.

The witness villagers said that the response of AA’s RPG attack on Military Navy ships came after Navy ship’s artillery fired about 10 times nearby Ray Kaung Shaing village on July 19 towards the clashes mountain ranges of nearby Mae Than Groo village of Ann township between AA and Tatmadaw (Myanmar Army) on July 18.

Myanmar Army Reportedly Set Fire to the Houses of Villagers in Rathedaung and Buthidaung

Tatmadaw (Myanmar Army) column reportedly set fire to the houses in AMyat Taung village of Rathidaung township and Alay Chaung Khami village of Buthidaung township in Rakhine State on Friday as they opened fire when they entered the village after the clashes, the villagers said.

A local resident from Amyat Taung village said “ The Myanmar Army marched on from mountain ranges where both sides are fighting which is about a mile from the village. The fighting took about half an hour. And they came from there and opened fire the village. The villagers fear run away. Then, they set fire the villages from every corner. We daren’t go and see and don’t know how many houses were destroyed."

Both Gunshots Wounded from Kyauk Tam and Lark Kar Villages Died in Yangon Hospital
