Some are saying that it’s inhumane to treat to the Rohingya in that manner.
The Malaysian Immigration Department today has come out with a warning to illegal immigrants, particularly the Rohingya to stay away from the country.

Complete with a poster very much like that of an action movie, featuring officers in uniform, the message was posted on social media platforms signaling the intent of denying Rohingyas entry and refuge in the country.

Rohingya ethnic migrants are reminded that their arrival is uninvited and never allowed. The masterminds and syndicates involved will continue to be hunted in combating cross-border crime as well as other crimes

Some Malaysians question the hostilities

When the post went on social media, it caught the attention of Malaysians who were shocked to see the authorities acting aggressively towards the ethnic group.

They were critical towards the message, saying that it’s inhumane to treat to the Rohingya in that manner.

The xenophobia of our Immigration Department. They just released a poster saying Rohingya ethnic migrants are not welcome to Malaysia.Firstly, they are refugees, not migrants, secondly, it is obvious our immigration department has no idea #WhatsHappeningInMyanmar, shameful https://t.co/39S5mag552

A vital part of responding to a pandemic is creating trust & providing aid to refugees and migrant communities.

This is not only the right thing to do but absolutely NECESSARY.

Not wage war against victims of violence & brutality.

This is incompetent & inhumane. https://t.co/V4aLeJM87r— Nash (@ViggyStrdust) June 11, 2021

Others supported the initiative

Although there were Malaysians who find the announcement distasteful, there were also those who supported the Department’s message.

Commenters who showed their support for the initiative urged authorities to check on immigrants in the Klang Valley area who are owning vehicles and businesses here in Malaysia.
