Mohammed Hossen (60), a Rohingya man from Cox's Bazar's Kutupalong camp, never thought that he would shift to Bhasan Char. However, well-made accommodation and better facilities than Ukhia Rohingya camp changed his mind.
"I never thought I would go to Bhasan Char. But I changed my mind when I came to know about good accommodation, more facilities there from one of my younger brothers who shifted in first batch," Hossen told The Daily Star at Patenga Boat Club in Chattogram, before they set out for Bhasan Char.
Two thousand and ten Rohingyas in fourth batch reached Bhasan Char today from Chattogram. They set out in five ships, each carrying around 500 displaced Myanmar citizens, under supervision of Bangladesh Navy.

Among them, Sultana Begum (35) who was from Balukhali Rohingya camp said, "My sister-in-law went there in third phase. I was confused whether I should go there. But I have been assured by my in-laws of a better environment there, so I took the decision to go to Bhasan Char and have a new life." Sultana's two children are also accompanying her in the journey.
Shamsud Douza Nayan, additional commissioner at Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Office, told The Daily Star that the fourth batch of Rohingyas reached Bhasan Char at 1:45pm today.
The first batch of Rohingyas was relocated to Bhasan Char on December 4 last year. Around 10,000 Rohingyas are now living at the island's facility.
