အိုင်စီဂျေမှာ ဂမ်ဘီယာက အဆိုလွှာတင် လွန်ခဲ့သော ၄ နာရီ က ရိုဟင်ဂျာတွေကို လူမျိုးတုံးသတ်ဖြတ်မှု လုပ် တယ်ဆိုပြီး ဂမ်ဘီယာနိုင်ငံကနေ မြန်မာကို တရားစွဲထားတဲ့အမှုမှာ နိုင်ငံတကာတရားရုံး (ICJ) က လက်ခံ ခဲ့ပြီးနောက် အခုအခါ ဂမ်ဘီယာနိုင်ငံရဲ့ ပထမဆုံးလျှောက်လဲချက်ဖြစ်တဲ့ Memorial အဆိုပြုလွှာကို ဒီနေ့မှာ အိုင်စီ ဂျေတရားရုံးကို တင်သွင်းဖို့ရှိနေပါတယ်။ ဒီအမှုကို ဂမ်ဘီယာဟာ အစ္စလာမ္မစ်နိုင်ငံများပူးပေါင်း ဆောင်ရွက် ရေးအဖွဲ့ (OIC) ကိုယ်စား တရားစွဲခဲ့တာလည်းဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အခု အဆိုလွှာမှာ ဘာတွေ ပါလဲဆိုတာ သိရ ဖို့ အိုအိုင်စီက ဖွဲ့ပေးထားတဲ့ အာရကန်ရိုဟင်ဂျာယူနီယံရဲ့ ညွှန်ကြားရေးမှူးချုပ်လည်းဖြစ် ဒီအမှုမှာ အကြံပေး အဖြစ်လည်းပါဝင်တဲ့ ဒေါက်တာဝါကာအူဒင်းကို ကိုမိုးမြင့်က မေးကြည့်ထားပါတယ်။

A rebel group in western Myanmar’s Rakhine state has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of three candidates of de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi’s governing party, demanding the release of detained student protesters in return for letting them go.

The governing National League for Democracy (NLD) said the three – Min Aung, Ni Ni May Myint and Chit Chit Chaw – were abducted last week while campaigning ahead of the country’s November 8 election.

Amnesty International has called on the United Nations Security Council to take urgent action against Myanmar before the International Criminal Court, amid mounting evidence of military abuses, including indiscriminate firing at civilians in the continuing conflict with armed Arakan rebels.

In a report released on Monday, Amnesty said that first-hand testimony, photographs and video evidence obtained by the group show the Myanmar military’s “utter disregard for civilian suffering” in areas at the epicentre of the fighting.

Approximately 130,000 Rohingya Muslims who remain in refugee camps in Myanmar’s conflict-torn Rakhine state live under “squalid and abusive” conditions, Human Rights Watch (HRW) said on Thursday urging that their “arbitrary and indefinite” detention be ended immediately.

Saudi Arabia wants Bangladesh to give passports to 54,000 stateless Rohingya refugees who have lived in the kingdom for decades. But many of them have never stepped foot in Bangladesh.  

Almost 40 years ago, Saudi Arabia took in tens of thousands of Rohingya refugees who were facing persecution in Myanmar. Now, Riyadh wants Muslim-majority Bangladesh to issue passports to some 54,000 Rohingya.

Political parties in Myanmar are calling for the postponement of a national election amid rising COVID-19 cases. Continued unrest in the country's northeast also threatens to keep people from voting.

Political parties in Myanmar have urged the Union Election Commission (UEC) to postpone November's election, saying the "COVID-19 restrictions will hinder their election campaigns."

But the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) party, headed by State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, has decided to go ahead with its election campaign on social media.

MANILA, Philippines — In his first-ever speech before the United Nations General Assembly, President Rodrigo Duterte reiterated on Wednesday the Philippines’ willingness to accept refugees, including the Rohingyas from Myanmar.

 
Duterte cited the Philippines’ history of opening its doors to the refugees — White Russians following the 1917 Revolution, European Jews during the Second World War, Vietnamese during the Vietnam War in the late 1960s, and Iranians displaced by the 1979 revolution.
