A nine-member Myanmar delegation visited Rohingya camp in Cox's Bazar on Wednesday and interacted with Rohingyas in an effort to convince them to return to their homes in Rakhine state, reports UNB. 

They will talk to Rohingyas at the camp on Thursday before they leave Cox's Bazar for Dhaka in the afternoon, an official told UNB.

Now that the first round of hearings is over, what has been the impact of that decision?

In the run-up to the hearings, state media went into overdrive portraying Aung San Suu Kyi as defending the nation against false accusations. The case was portrayed not as a state to state case focussed mainly on crimes by the military, but rather as one against the people of the country and an attempt at damaging the reputation of the country. Private media largely followed the same line, with some even saying it was everyone in the country being accused.

Myanmar-Asean team urges refugees

A joint delegation of Myanmar and the Asean yesterday met a group of some 40 Rohingya representatives to convince them to return to Rakhine, from where they fled a brutal military crackdown in 2017.

Burma’s de facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi has asked the U.N. International Court of Justice to drop the genocide case against Myanmar, formerly Burma. Suu Kyi is a Nobel Peace Prize winner who spent over a decade fighting against the Burmese military, which she is now defending. Last week, Suu Kyi appeared in person at the court to dispute the charges and called the allegations of genocide against Rohingya Muslims “incomplete and misleading.”

၁၉၉၁ ခုနှစ် ဒီဇင်ဘာလ ၁ဝ ရက်နေ့က ဒေါ်အောင်ဆန်း စုကြည် ငြိမ်း ချမ်းရေးနိုဗယ်ဆု ချီးမြှင့်ခြင်းခံခဲ့ရ သည်။ ယခု ၂ဝ၁၉ ခုနှစ် ဒီဇင်ဘာ ၁ဝ ရက်နေ့က မြန်မာနိုင်ငံအား လူမျိုးတုံး သတ် ဖြတ်မှုအတွက် တားမြစ် ရေးဆိုင် ရာနိုင်ငံတကာသဘောတူညီချက် အား ချိုးဖောက်သည်ဆိုကာ အပြည် ပြည်ဆိုင်ရာတရားရုံး၌ ဂမ် ဘီယာ နိုင်ငံ၏ တရားစွဲဆိုမှုအပေါ် မြန်မာ နိုင်ငံဘက်က ဦးဆောင်ရင်ဆိုင် သည့်သူ မှာ လည်း မြန်မာနိုင်ငံ၏ အတိုင်ပင်ခံပုဂ္ဂိုလ်ဒေါ်အောင် ဆန်းစုကြည်ပင် ဖြစ်လေသည်။
