Three Rohingya Arrested after Crossing Indo-Burma Border

Three individuals identified by local authorities as “Bengalis” were arrested in the Chin State border town of Rihkhawdar on Tuesday as they tried to enter the country from India’s Mizoram State.

The arrest was made by a combined force of Rihkhawdar immigration and police officials shortly after the two women and one man crossed the border about 200 meters north of the town’s India-Burma Friendship Bridge. The authorities were waiting for them there after receiving a tipoff.

The woman was applying for a passport with the help of a middleman

Police detained a Rohingya woman and a middleman for applying for a passport with fake documents at the Narsingdi regional passport office on Sunday afternoon.

Yasmin Akhter, 20, with the help of Iman Ali, 40, applied for a passport with fake documents, said Assistant director of Narsingdi regional passport office, Shahjahan Kabir.

A fishing boat carrying 64 Rohingya Muslim refugees has been found beached on an island in southern Thailand, officials have said.

The chief of Tarutao National Marine Park, Kanjanapan Kamhaeng, said a boat carrying the Rohingya - 28 men, 31, women and five children - was discovered on Tuesday morning.

YANGON–A village administrative official from northern Rakhine State’s Kyauktaw Township was arrested by army troops on Thursday.

U Thein Soe Aung, an official of Shwe Pyi village—about 8 kilometers north of Kyauktaw Township—was accused by the Myanmar Army, or Tatmadaw, of providing rations to Arakan Army (AA) rebels.

Five Rohingyas Apprehended by RPF at Guwahati Railway Station

Guwahati: Today at around 9.00 am Railway Protection Force (RPF) Guwahati unit had apprehended five suspected Rohingyas at Guwahati Railway Station.

As per GRP report, these Rohingyas (Myanmar Nationals) were apprehended by RPF personnel of Guwahati railway station from platform no. 1 while they are preparing to move to New Delhi. They are coming from Manipur along with some smuggled items. Several packets of Cigarettes, Coffee packets, etc were recovered from their possession.

The 20-acre cannabis plantation was no secret.

The farm, near Mandalay in central Myanmar, had been praised on Facebook by a group calling itself the Mahar Legalization Movement Myanmar, which wants the Burmese government to ease the heavy penalties it imposes on cannabis production and use.

The group approvingly posted photos of what it called an “industrial hemp plantation” run by foreigners — just the sort of agriculture it said the country needed. The post was viewed thousands of times on Facebook.

Hyderabad, April 17 Hyderabad police on Wednesday arrested three Myanmar refugees for impersonating as Indians to secure Aadhaar and other identity cards.

The refugees, known as Rohingyas, also obtained voter card, ration card and applied for Indian passport. Police said they were availing benefits under welfare schemes meant for Indian citizens.

Six arrested with 85,000 yaba pills

Police in separate drives arrested six people including three Rohingyas and seized 85,000 yaba
tablets from their possession in Chattogram city on Wednesday night and yesterday morning.

The three Rohingyas were identified as Abu Taher, 22, Md Ismail, 28, and Md Mubarak, 27, hailing from
Teknaf Jadimura Rohingya Camp. They were arrested with 50,000 yaba tablets from Bridge Ghat area.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted the drive around 10pm on Wednesday, said Md Mohsin,
officer-in-charge(OC) of Kotwali Police Station.

Other arrestees -- Md Mamun, 24, Jubaer, 18, and Abu Bakar Siddique, 20 -- are residents of the city's
Firingi Bazar area. They had 35,000 yaba tablets while they were going to Chattogram from Teknaf on
a microbus at 8am, said OC Mohsin.

“During primary interrogation, the arrestees admitted that they carried the yaba tablets from Teknaf to
sell those in Chattogram city and other parts of the country,” he added.

2 Rohingya men held with Yaba in Chandpur

Chandpur, Mar 29 (UNB) – Police arrested two Rohingya men along with 1500 Yaba pills from Kacha Colony in the district town on Thursday.

The arrestees are Mizanur Rahman and Mohammad Russel.

When the two young men were moving around suspiciously a team of police challenged them and recovered the Yaba pills after searching their bodies, said Nasim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Chandpur Model Police Station.

A case was filed in this connection.

Of the total Rohingyas arrested, 52 were deported to their respective country after they completed their jail term. The remaining 27 are serving their term under the Foreigners Act, the CM said.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Wednesday informed the state assembly that a total of 79 Rohingyas were arrested between 2011 and 2018 when they were trying to enter Manipur without valid documents.

Government Railway Police (GRP) apprehended three Rohingya at Lumding railway station in central Assam’s Hojai district on Sunday on charges of illegally entering the country.

They have been identified as Samshn Alam, 51, Shamsh Alam, 32, and Shabir Ahmed, 64, all hailing from Rakhine in Myanmar.

Guwahati: Three Rohingya Muslims were detained by the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Lumding town in Central Assam’s Hojai district on Sunday morning.

Superintendent of Railway Police Hemanta Das said: “They were detained after locals spotted them and intimated the police.

Six Rohingya, including four minor girls, were detained for not having valid travel documents by police in Assam’s Cachar district on Monday.

The group was travelling with a Bangladeshi couple, who told the police that they had been living in India, in a border village in Tripura, for the last ten years. Police recovered two Aadhaar cards from the group.

Six Rohingyas nabbed along Indo-Nepal border, after this happened

In a major development, as many as six Rohingyas were arrested on Saturday by the Border Interaction Team.
The arrest came about at Panitanki along the Indo-Nepal border.
Sources said that the arrest took place as they were trying to cross over into Nepal from India.
The six arrested persons, including a woman, were handed over to Khoribari Police station.
It was said that at least two persons were sent to a correctional home while the other four were sent to police custody.

They were produced before the Siliguri Court
