Myanmar authorities seized more than 10 million meth pills worth $13.3 million over the weekend, police said Monday, another massive haul in a country widely believed to be the world's largest methamphetamine producer.

High-grade crystal meth -- or 'ice' -- is smuggled out of Myanmar via sophisticated networks to lucrative developed markets as far away as Japan, South Korea and Australia.

Four village administrators in Buthidaung Township terminated

The Rakhine State government has terminated four village administrators in Buthidaung Township in Rakhine State in accord with the procedures, Kyaw Min Tun, the Buthidaung Township Administrator confirmed.

These four administrators are: Kyaw Hla Khaing from Padakar village-tract, Tun Pon from Kyaungtaung village-tract, Kyaw Mya from Gyunpauk village-tract and Kyaw Thaung from Panphaechaung village-tract.

March 4 th, 2019 ― Doha: A joint high-profile delegation from Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) and Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) has visited Bangladesh to review humanitarian operations for the Rohingya refugees and hand over newly built shelters to refugee camp inhabitants.

QRCS was represented by Ali bin Hassan Al-Hammadi, Secretary-General, and Dr. Faouzi Oussedik, Head of International Relations. KRCS’s delegation was headed by the organization’s President, Dr. Hilal Mussaed Al-Sayer.

Over 70 people representing various stakeholders: Rohingya women leaders, Government high officials, UN agencies, international and local organisations, Camp-in-Charges and different forum members attended the opening ceremony held yesterday where ABM Masud Hossain, Superintendent of Police(SP), Cox's Bazar and Shoko Ishikawa, Country Representative, UN Women Bangladesh inaugurated the facility according to a press release issued in this regard today.

We don’t hear about this crisis that much any more – working in the camps myself, I cannot help but feel frustrated

Before arriving in Cox’s Bazar in Bangladesh where more than 900,000 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar live, I had expected a refugee camp. Instead I found a sprawling, makeshift city of sorts with tent homes built amid steep, hilly terrain.

I’m an aid worker with the organization CARE. I’ve been responding to humanitarian crises for over 20 years and been to refugee camps in countries like South Sudan and Iraq, but I’ve never seen living conditions like that of the camps in Cox’s Bazar.
