Cox's Bazar district administration and IOM on Thursday reaffirmed their continued collaboration to counter human trafficking in the coastal district currently hosting over a million forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals.

NAYPYITAW (Reuters) - Myanmar will postpone elections in parts of war-torn Rakhine state if the military declares them unsafe, a senior election official said on Thursday, prompting a backlash from ethnic parties with strong support in the region.
"It is necessary to have peace and stability to hold elections," said Union Election Commission chair Hla Thein, adding that the army-controlled ministries of defence and home affairs would soon determine whether the region was stable.

Malaysian authorities said they found 26 Rohingya Muslims, including women and children, hiding on a northern islet after they were initially feared drowned after jumping off a fishing boat.
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency launched a search for the group after one Rohingya migrant found on the islet off the northern resort island of Langkawi told investigators that at least 24 other Rohingya were missing.
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency launched a search for the group after one Rohingya migrant found on the islet off the northern resort island of Langkawi told investigators that at least 24 other Rohingya were missing.
