Gombak District police chief ACP Arifai Tarawe said police did not receive any report on the incident which was said to have been caught on camera and shared on social media.

The novel coronavirus has been detected in one of the camps in southern Bangladesh that are home to more than a million Rohingyas, officials said on Thursday, as humanitarian groups warned that the infection could devastate the crowded settlement.

An ethnic Rohingya refugee and another person have tested positive for COVID-19, a senior Bangladeshi official and a UN spokeswoman said. It was the first confirmed case in the camps, which are more densely populated than most crowded cities on earth.

Two Rohingyas refugees in Cox's Bazar have tested positive for Covid-19, the highly contagious and deadly disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus.

The prinicipal of Cox's Bazar Medical College and the additional refugee relief and repatriation commissioner confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune on Thursday.

Mine blasts in western Myanmar’s Rakhine state killed two Rohingya children and injured another child as they picked mangoes in a deserted village on Wednesday, with the government military and the rebel Arakan Army blaming each other for the deadly explosions, locals said.

The deadly blast highlighted the peril and instability in Rakhine as two U.N. agencies and Myanmar extended an agreement to work for the return of more than 740,000 Rohingya expelled in what U.N. reports called an ethnic cleaning campaign in 2017.
