အာမေနီးယားနှင့်အဇာဘိုင်ဂျန်တို့စစ်ပွဲကြီးဖြစ်တော့မလား?

လက်ရှိဖြစ်ပွားနေသော အာမေးနီးယားနှင့် အဇာဘိုင်ဂျန်တို့ကြားဖြစ်ပွား ပဋိပက္ခ အခြေတည်ရာနယ်မြေဖြစ် သည့် "နာဂေါ်နို-ကာရာဘတ်" (Nagorno-Karabakh) ကို ကြားဖူးကြသူ နည်းကြပါမည်။ နာဂေါ်နို-ကာရာဘတ် ဆိုသည်က လူဦးရေ ၁၅၀၀၀၀ ခန့်သာရှိသော တောင်ကုန်းတောင်တန်းထူထပ်သော ပြည် နယ်လေးတစ်ခုသာ ဖြစ်သည်။

အားမေးနီးယန်းတို့က နာဂေါ်နို-ကာရာဘတ်ကို "အာ့တ်ဆတ်ခ်" ဟု ခေါ်သည်။ တကယ်တော့ နာဂေါ်နို-ကာရာဘတ်ခ်ခေါ် အာ့တ်ဆတ်ခ်နယ်ကလေးသည်က တောင်ကော့ကေးဆပ်နယ် လူမျိုးကြီးနှစ်ခုတို့ကြား ပြဿနာရင်းမြစ်ဖြစ်နေခဲ့သည်မှာ အတော်ပင်ကြာခဲ့ပြီ။ ဆိုရလျှင် ဆိုဗီယက်ယူနီယံ မပြိုကွဲခင်ကတည်းက စဖြစ်ခဲ့သည်ဟု ဆိုနိုင်သည်။ နာဂေါ်နို-ကာရာဘတ်တွင် အဓိက နေထိုင်သူများက အာမေးနီးယန်းများ ဖြစ်ကြသည်။ ၁၉၉၁ တွင် ၎င်းတို့က အာမေးနီးယား၏နောက်ခံပံ့ပိုးမှုဖြင့် အဇာဘိုင်ဂျန်မှ ခွဲထွက်ကြောင်း လွတ်လပ်ရေးကြေငြာသည်။ အဇာဘိုင်ဂျန်မှလည်း ၎င်း၏အာဏာစက် ပြန်လည်သက်ရောက်ရန် ကြိုးပမ်းသည်။ ၎င်းနောက်တွင် ဆိုဗီယက်ယူနီယံ ပြိုကွဲမှုနှင့်အတူ ဒေသတွင်းသွေးမြေကျ ပဋိပက္ခများ တရစပ်ဖြစ်ပွားလာခဲ့တော့သည်။

Dhaka to remind world of Rohingya failure at UNGA

Bangladesh will bring the unresolved Rohingya crisis before the global leaders today (Saturday) apparently reminding everybody of the failure to find a durable solution to the crisis amid Myanmar's non-fulfilment of repatriation pledge, officials said, reports UNB.

Bangladesh will also seek genuine efforts from the global community to help Rohingyas return to their place of origin in Myanmar's Rakhine State, they said.

A new report has highlighted the need for the international community to examine the ongoing oppression against the Rohingya.

Myanmar is a nation whose history is marred by the struggle between those in power and those they oppress. In recent years this has been especially true of the ethnic Rohingya in the country’s western Rakhine state. They have faced decades of oppression, culminating most recently in a military campaign against them that is now being investigated as genocide by the United Nations.

The Registry of the International Criminal Court has filed its observations on a joint request by the victims to hold the hearings in the Rohingya genocide case within reasonable proximity of the affected populations, instead of The Hague.  

In its filing submitted on September 21, which is available on the ICC’s website, the Registry outlines five possible scenarios whereby all or some part of the hearings may be held in Bangladesh, and details the pros and cons of each.

The Saudi Arabian pressure on Bangladesh to issue passports to 54,000 Rohingyas and bring back 462 others is unacceptable and unfair, analysts and Rohingya activists have said.

They said if the kingdom was really to send back the Rohingyas, they should mount pressure on Myanmar. They questioned as to why Bangladesh, which had taken in over a million Rohingyas, should take the 54,000 more.

BANGKOK – As long-anticipated international accountability measures for Myanmar gather pace, recent developments which at first seem to promise evidence for justice, on closer examination could potentially disrupt such investigations.

On September 8, the American nongovernmental organization Fortify Rights released a statement, in conjunction with the New York Times, of testimony by two Myanmar Army, or Tatmadaw, soldiers who claim to have perpetrated under military orders the murder of Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine state in 2017.

On August 4, 2020, the legal representatives of three specific groups of Rohingya victims submitted a joint request to the Pre-Trial Chamber of the International Criminal Court (ICC), requesting it to direct the Registry of the Court to prepare an assessment of potential venues for holding the Court's proceedings in a state other than the host state (i.e. the Netherlands) so that proceedings can be held in a location which is physically closer to the victims of the alleged atrocities, who are currently residing in various refugee camps in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. In brief, the victims requested the Court to direct the Registry to explore whether the proceedings could be held in a location physically closer to Cox's Bazar, where the victims are currently residing.

MANILA, Philippines — In his first-ever speech before the United Nations General Assembly, President Rodrigo Duterte reiterated on Wednesday the Philippines’ willingness to accept refugees, including the Rohingyas from Myanmar.

 
Duterte cited the Philippines’ history of opening its doors to the refugees — White Russians following the 1917 Revolution, European Jews during the Second World War, Vietnamese during the Vietnam War in the late 1960s, and Iranians displaced by the 1979 revolution.
