LONDON, Jun 30 (APP):The United Kingdom (UK)’s International Ambassador for Human Rights, Rita French Monday said the systematic discrimination facing the Rohingya in Myanmar prevents them from living safe and dignified lives.

She delivered this statement during the Interactive Dialogue on the High Commissioner’s oral update on the situation of human rights of Rohingya people.

According to a UK government’s statement, she said the UK is deeply concerned by the restrictions Rohingya face on their freedom of movement. In recent months restrictions have increased. Noting that Covid-19 creates legitimate, albeit limited, reasons for restrictions, these are disproportionately affecting Rohingya.

Three Myanmar military officers have been found guilty by a court-martial investigating atrocities against the Rohingya in conflict-ridden Rakhine state, the army announced.

The rare action against members of the military on Tuesday comes as Myanmar faces charges of genocide at the UN's top court over a brutal 2017 crackdown against the Rohingya.

Some 750,000 mostly Muslim Rohingya fled to neighbouring Bangladesh during the crackdown, carrying with them accounts of widespread murder, rape and arson.

The verdict on the massacre near Gu Dar Pyin village came as the Myanmar military faces genocide-related charges at three international courts over its expulsion of more than 740,000 Rohingya to Bangladesh in late 2017, in which thousands died in indiscriminate killings, mass rape, torture, and village burnings.

YANGON — Three Myanmar military officers were found guilty by a court martial investigating atrocities against Rohingya Muslims in conflict-ridden Rakhine State, the army announced Tuesday.

The rare action against military members came as Myanmar faces charges of genocide at the United Nations' top court over a brutal 2017 crackdown against the Rohingya.

In a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Monday, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen also requested Washington to provide duty free quota free privilege for the next two years.

ဂူတာပြင်ကျေးရွာမှာ လူအစုလိုက်အသတ်ခံရမှုနဲ့ပတ်သက်ပြီး စစ်တရားရုံး(Court-Martial) က တပ်မတော် အရာရှိကြီး ၁ ဦး၊ အရာရှိ ၁ ဦးနဲ့ အခြားအဆင့်စစ်သည် ၁ ဦးတို့ကို သက်ဆိုင်ရာစွဲချက်အရ အပြစ်ရှိကြောင်း ဆုံးဖြတ်ပြစ်ဒဏ် အတည်ပြုချမှတ်ခဲ့တယ်လို့ တပ်မတော်က ဇွန်လ ၃၀ ရက်မှာ သတင်းထုတ်ပြန်ပါတယ်။
