The United Nations’ highest tribunal is to deliver its decision on whether emergency measures are required to prevent Myanmar conducting genocide against its Rohingya Muslim minority.

The momentous pronouncement on Thursday follows a three-day hearing at the international court of justice in The Hague last month at which the Nobel peace prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi defended her country against accusations of systematic human rights abuses and war crimes.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is set to deliver an order today in response to The Gambia’s seeking provisional measures to stop genocide against the Rohingyas in Myanmar’s Rakhine.

The top UN court, situated in The Hague, Netherlands and comprised of 15 judges, is scheduled to start delivering the order at 3:00pm (Bangladesh time).

Turkish delegation meets refugee relief, repatriation commissioner

A Bangladeshi official on Thursday called on the Turkish government to take more steps at international arena to help resolve Rohingya crisis.

“Please draw the attention to the world community so that the Myanmar government is convinced and take the Rohingya refugee back to their country,” said Mahbub Alam Talukder, refugee relief and repatriation commissioner in Cox’s Bazar district.

The Free Rohingya Coalition (FRC) has refuted the findings of Myanmar's Independent Commission of Enquiry that there is "no" or "insufficient" evidence to establish the genocidal intent behind Myanmar's destruction of the Rohingya community in Myanmar and the mass deportations of estimated 800,000 Rohingyas into Bangladesh in 2016 and 2017, reports UNB.

Nay San Lwin, the cofounder and coordinator of the Coalition, on Tuesday said this is yet another Myanmar commission set up to deny and dismiss credible findings of the decades-long and ongoing genocide of our Rohingya people.

A Rohingya activist has told Radio Islam the Independent Commission of Enquiry (ICOE) report is to “protect criminals from prosecution”. A commission set up to investigate the 2017 crackdown in Rakhine led hundreds of thousands of mostly Muslim Rohingya to flee Myanmar.

The report released on Monday to the country’s president Aung San Suu Kyi concludes that while some soldiers probably committed war crimes there was no genocide.

The report comes a few days before the United Nations' top court is set to rule on whether to impose urgent measures to stop the alleged continuing genocide in Myanmar.

Speaking to Radio Islam, Nay San Lwin says the release of the report’s findings is a "blatant PR exercise to deflect attention from the International Court and that the security forces are trying to get away from being prosecuted for genocide.

“As Myanmar is not a signatory of the Rome Statute, the International Criminal Court cannot also sue Myanmar criminals for these cases or these crimes. That is basically the report, to protect the criminals from prosecution.”

The four-member commission included two international representatives and was led by Rosario Manalo, a former deputy foreign minister of the Philippines. Lwin says Manalo has a friendship with Myanmar.

“We can see clearly that the relationship between them is friendly. They have a very good friendship and she was ready to cover-up all the crimes committed by the general that is why she was convinced to write this report.” The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is set to announce on Thursday its ruling on a case filed by Gambia against Myanmar on the persecution of the Rohingya.

It was recently reported that Myanmar had conceded that it had committed “war crimes” against its Rohingya Muslim community. This is as far as Myanmar has ever gone in admitting responsibility for the atrocities committed against its Rohingya minority. Still, to some observers, this is not good enough.

ကျူးလွန်သူတွေကို အရေးယူရာမှာ အာဆာနဲ့ပတ်သက်တဲ့ အမှုတွေကို အကြမ်းဖက်မှု တိုက်ဖျက်ရေး ဥပဒေ ပုဒ်မတွေနဲ့ အရေးယူနိုင်တယ်။ အာဆာကို အားပေးသူတွေကိုလည်း အဲဒီ ဥပဒေ ပုဒ်မတွေနဲ့ အရေးယူနိုင်တယ်။

CMP (Case Management Program - မှုခင်းစီမံခန့်ခွဲမှု အစီအစဉ်) စီမံချက်ချပြီး ဘယ်နေ့အပြီး၊ ဘယ်လအပြီး စီမံချက်နဲ့ အမှုတွေ စစ်နေတာဖြစ်လို့ အရင်ကလို ကြာမြင့်တာမျိုး မရှိနိုင်ဘူးလို့ ဦးကြီးမြင့်က ပြောပါတယ်။

ကျူးလွန်သူတွေကို ရှေ့နေချုပ်ရုံးက လက်တွေ့ စစ်ဆေးတဲ့အခါ နည်းလမ်း မှန်မှန်ကန်ကန်ဆောင်ရွက်ရင်လွယ် ကူနိုင်တယ်လို့ ဦးကြီးမြင့်က ပြောပါတယ်။ အဲဒီလို စစ်ဆေးတဲ့အခါ ရဲတပ်ဖွဲ့နဲ့ တပ်မတော်ရဲ့ အကူအညီကို ရယူ ပြီး စစ်နိုင်မှာ ဖြစ်တယ်လို့ ပြောပါတယ်။

နစ်နာသူတွေက အမှုဖွင့်တာတွေ ရှိလာနိုင်လို့ ရဲစခန်းကို အမှုလာဖွင့်သူတွေကိုလည်း စစ်ဆေးတာတွေ လုပ်နိုင် တယ်လို့ ပြောပါတယ်။

ICOE အစီရင်ခံစာကို အစိုးရနဲ့ တပ်ဘယ်လိုဆောင်ရွက်မလဲ

ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ်မှာ ၂၀၁၆-၂၀၁၇ အာဆာတိုက်ခိုက်မှုတွေကို တပ်မတော်နဲ့ လုံခြုံရေးတပ်ဖွဲ့တွေက တုံ့ပြန်ရာမှာ လူ့အခွင့်အရေး ချိုးဖောက်မှုတွေရှိတယ်ဆိုတဲ့ စွပ်စွဲချက်တွေနဲ့ ပတ်သက်ပြီး စုံစမ်းစစ်ဆေးခဲ့တဲ့ အစီရင်ခံစာ အကျဉ်းချုပ် ဇန်နဝါရီ ၂၁ ရက်မှာ ထွက်လာခဲ့တာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

လက်ရှိ အာဏာရ NLD အစိုးရက ၂၀၁၈ မှာ ဖွဲ့ပေးခဲ့တဲ့ လွတ်လပ်သော စုံစမ်းစစ်ဆေးရေး ကော်မရှင် (Independent Commission of Enquiry - ICOE) ရဲ့ အဆုံးသတ် အစီရင်ခံစာ အကျဉ်းချုပ်ထွက်လာပြီးနောက် တစ်ရက်မှာ ကျူးလွန်သူတွေကို စုံစမ်းစစ်ဆေးဖို့ ပြည်ထောင်စု ရှေ့နေချုပ်ရုံးက ကြေညာခဲ့ပါတယ်။

ဒီအစီရင်ခံစာထဲက စစ်ရာဇဝတ်မှုတွေ ဖြစ်ခဲ့နိုင်တယ်ဆိုတာတွေနဲ့ ပတ်သက်ပြီး တပ်မတော်ဘက်ကလည်း ဥပ ဒေနဲ့အညီ ဆက်လက်စုံစမ်း စစ်ဆေးသွားမယ်လို့ တုံ့ပြန်ထားပါတယ်။

အခုလို ရှေ့နေချုပ်ရုံးက ကြေညာခဲ့တဲ့ နောက်တစ်ရက် ဇန်နဝါရီ ၂၃ မှာတော့ မြန်မာဟာ လူမျိုးတုံး သတ်ဖြတ်မှု တားဆီးတဲ့ ဂျီနိုဆိုက် ကွန်ဗန်းရှင်းကို ချိုးဖောက်တယ်ဆိုပြီး ဂမ်ဘီယာက တရားစွဲဆို ကြားဖြတ်အစီအစဉ်တွေ ချမှတ်ပေးဖို့ တောင်းဆိုထားတာကို နိုင်ငံတကာ တရားရုံး အိုင်စီဂျေက အဆုံးအဖြတ်ချမှတ်မှာပါ။
