ရခိုင်ပြည်နယ်၊ မြောက်ဦးမြို့နယ်၊ ရဲဖျားကျေးရွာမှ အရပ်ဆေးဆရာ တစ်ဦးအား စစ်တပ်မှ ဖမ်းဆီးခေါ် aဆာင်သွားသည်ဟု သတင်းရရှိသည်။

ဖမ်းဆီးခေါ်ဆောင်ခံရသူ ဆေးဆရာမှာ ဦးလှသိန်း (၄၁) ဖြစ်ကြောင်း သိရသည်။

ရဲဖျားကျေးရွာ အုပ်ချုပ်ရေးမှူးသို့ဆက်သွယ်ရာ သူက “ ဒီနေ့ မနက် ၅ နာရီလောက်က စစ်သားတွေ ရွာကို ဝိုင်းပါတယ်။ တပ်မ ၅၅ကပါ။ အင်အား တစ်ရာကျော်လောက် ပါမယ်ထင်ပါတယ်။ ပထမ ရွာသား လေး ဆယ် ငါးဆယ်လောက်ကို ဖမ်းပါတယ်။ မှတ်ပုံတင်တွေ စစ်ပါတယ်။ စစ်ဆေးမှုတွေ ပြုလုပ်ပြီးနောက် ပြန် လွတ်ပါတယ်။ ရွာမှာဆေးကုနေတဲ့ ဦးလှသိန်းဆိုတဲ့ ဆေးဆရာတစ်ဦးကိုတော့ ဖမ်းဆီး ခေါ်ဆောင် သွား ပါတယ်” ဟု ပြောကြားသည်။
စစ်တပ်က ရွာကို ဝိုင်းပြီး ရှာဖွေခြင်းမှာ ရက္ခိုင့်တပ်မတော် AA မှ ဒဏ်ရာရနေသည့် တပ်ဖွဲ့ဝင်များ ရဲဖျားရွာ တွင် ဆေးကုသနေကြောင်း သတင်းရ၍ ရွာတွင် လာရှာခြင်း ဖြစ်ကြောင်းသိရသည်ဟုဆိုသည်။

Myanmar and Bangladesh border guard forces will cooperate to combat Arakan Army (AA), a local insurgent group and Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA), which Myanmar designated as a terrorist organization, and it will help to provide assistance for security, said Maungdaw district administrator Soe Aung during a meeting between senior officers of the border guard forces from Myanmar and Bangladesh held at Nay Pyi Taw on April 9.

Rohingya refugees are embarking on perilous sea crossings to escape from the refugee camps in Bangladesh into which they have been forced after fleeing oppression in their native Burma.

The authorities in Malaysia announced yesterday that they had detained 41 Rohingya Muslims, the third group to be intercepted in two weeks and a sign of increasing desperation among those displaced from Rakhine state in Burma.

Myanmar and Bangladesh will cooperate to combat narcotics and terrorists along their border, according to a joint statement issued after the sixth Myanmar-Bangladesh border guard forces meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Tuesday.

“Matters of mutual benefit were discussed at the meeting, and both sides agreed to cooperate in those sectors,” said police Brigadier General Myo Than, who led the Myanmar delegation at the meeting a day earlier.

IFC provides $3 million loan to SLCM to reduce post-harvest losses in Myanmar.

IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is providing a $3 million loan to SLCM Limited, the Yangon-based subsidiary of Sohan Lal Commodity Management, a Delhi-based agri-logistics group. The aim is to help the company expand its warehousing services and allied services, in Myanmar, thereby improving the livelihoods of the rural population that rely on agriculture.

Malaysian police said Monday that 41 suspected Rakhine Muslim men and boys have been detained in the northernmost state of Perlis, the second group to land in the country in just over a month, and that some 200 others are still believed to be at sea.

Perlis police chief Noor Mushar Mohamad said the group, ranging in age from 14 to 30, landed early Monday on the same beach where 34 women and children from northern Rakhine were found stranded on March 2.
