Rohingya crisis: ICC prosecutor to visit Bangladesh soon to gather evidence for trial

Chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) Fatou Bensouda is coming to Bangladesh soon to gather evidence for a trial over deportations of Rohingya people from Myanmar to Bangladesh as a possible crime against humanity.

The deceased was Shafiqul Islam, 26, son of Lokman Hakim of block-1 of the refugee camp.
Nurul Islam Mazumdar, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Ukhia police station, said Shafiqul was missing since Thursday. His elder brother filed an abduction case with the police station.
US contributes $105m to Rohingya fund

The United States has contributed $45.5 million to the UN World Food Program in support of the Rohingya crisis, reports UNB.
This is in addition to the $60 million announced at the 2019 UN Joint Response Plan (JRP) launch in Geneva on 15 February.
This brings the total US contribution to the 2019 JRP to $105 million, said the US embassy in Dhaka on Sunday.
