Bangladesh is expected to highlight the impacts of two key issues -- climate change and Rohingya crisis -- at the Berlin Climate and Security Conference 2019 to be held on June 4, says an official.

Rohingya crisis will have a special focus during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to Japan and Saudi Arabia, beginning tomorrow.

During a bilateral meeting, Sheikh Hasina will seek her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe’s assistance in addressing the Rohingya crisis.

7 soldiers who murdered Rohingya Muslims in Rakhine state set free, report claims
Human rights activists across the world have expressed concerns over the release of seven Myanmar soldiers who murdered 10 Rohingya Muslims in a 2017 military crackdown in its western Rakhine state.

“The only reason these seven soldiers were arrested is because Reuters journalists Wa Lone and Kyaw Soe Oo exposed these cold-blooded murders in an investigative news story that could not be refuted,” Phil Robertson, deputy Asia director of Human Rights Watch tweeted.

Doha: The ‘For Humanity’ initiative launched by Qatar Charity (QC) in cooperation with UNHCR to provide aid to more than 300,000 refugees from Yemen, Iraq, Somalia, and Syria, in addition to Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, witnessed an overwhelming response from the people in Qatar through the Al Rayyan TV and Al Quran Al Kareem Radio, managing to raise QR24.75m within two hours.
