Propaganda leaflets distributed by junta in Rakhine IDP camps

The junta authority is reportedly distributing propaganda leaflets (pamphlets) in various IDP camps in Rakhine State to motivate the refugees to return back to their villages.

"Some people came to the camp and distributed the leaflets. I did not meet them but I could read a leaflet which was found in my grandmother's room. Similar leaflets were distributed in earlier occasions too,” said a refugee in Mrauk U camp.

A group of Myanmar pro-junta individuals, including two well-known politicians, lobbied Japanese parliamentarians to support the regime’s planned election during a trip to the country earlier this month, an inside source told Myanmar Now.

Sandar Min, an ousted member of the former ruling National League for Democracy (NLD); Aye Maung, chair of the Arakan Front Party; and Kyaw Myo Min, who runs the pro-army news outlet Neo Politics, met with two opposition lawmakers in Tokyo on September 19, according to the source, who did not disclose the identities of the Japanese MPs.

Myanmar’s junta boss Min Aung Hlaing has reorganized the regime’s governing body, the State Administration Council (SAC), at least five times since the 2021 coup.

Fifteen SAC members, including three generals, have been removed over the past two years.

Min Aung Hlaing formed the 11-member SAC on February 2, 2021, a day after the coup.

UNITED NATIONS, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Rohingya refugees in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, now face a dire situation as aid funding diminishes, a UN spokesman said on Tuesday.

The Rohingya, who have faced repeated climate shocks since their exodus from Myanmar seven years ago, now face hunger, deepening their vulnerabilities, said Stephane Dujarric, chief spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

AA is conducting operation to clean up terrorists in Buthidaung

Arakan Army is hunting down terrorist organizations in Buthidaung township on Myanmar-Bangladesh border areas, said ULA/AA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha.

Speaking to Narinjara News, he added that those terrorists have been committing crimes like kidnapping, extortion, murdering in many localities and hence the AA is conducting the clean up operation.

Until recently, Myanmar was little but a distant memory for Bawi Tin Par. The 26-year-old left her native Chin State when she was nine and was resettled as a refugee in the United States city of Indianapolis.
