Millions of Rohingya Muslims
have fled to neighboring Bangladesh for fear of military action in
Rakhine, a western area in Myanmar.
Yangon, Reuters. Five people of the minority Rohingya community are reported to have died in a militant battle with the military on Saturday in Myanmar's restive Rakhine province. Among the dead is a child. Apart from this, many people have also been injured.
Five killed in military retaliation
Confirming this, local MP Tun Thar Sein said that the incident occurred when the army convoy passing through the town of Marouk U was attacked by the Arakan Army militants. In retaliation, the shells fired by the army fell into Bu Ta Lon village, killing five people there.
Fearing military action, millions of Rohingya Muslims took refuge in Bangladesh
