Thousands of refugees are living in squalid camps near the Bangladeshi border town of Cox's Bazar, after escaping violence in Myanmar's Rakhine state.
Now under the aegis of the Sheikha Fatima Global Humanitarian Campaign, doctors from the UAE and Bangladesh are helping to treat women and children.
Teams use mobile clinics and field hospitals to provide better diagnostic, treatment and preventive services that contribute to easing hardships faced by these vulnerable communities.
The Rohingya are Muslim and many in predominantly Buddhist Myanmar view them as illegal immigrants. Hundreds of thousands have fled to Bangladesh after a military crackdown by Myanmar troops.
Myanmar's army has denied any wrongdoing and rejected UN allegations of genocide.
