We are helping Rohingyas on humanitarian grounds

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal attends Raj Punnah festival, a traditional festival of the Bomang tribe in Bandarban, as chief guest on Wednesday.

The Home Minister has also claimed that the combined efforts of the security force, intelligence and the people of the country have successfully curbed militancy.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said Bangladesh is providing humanitarian support to the thousands of Rohingyas who have already entered the country after fleeing the violence in neighbouring Myanmar.

In comments made at the inauguration ceremony of Balaghata Police Lines School in Bandarban on Wednesday, the minister indicated that the current arrangements are only temporary.

“We will talk to Myanmar to take them back once the situation improves and we believe that the Rohingyas will go back home,” Kamal has added.

Later, the home minister was chief guest at the Raj Punnah festival, a traditional festival of the Bomang tribe.
