Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner Shamsud Douza confirmed that 1,800 cows and 400 goats were among the sacrificial animals.
He said: "This year, the allocation of sacrificial animals for the camps has decreased compared to other years. This time, 2,200 sacrificial animals have been received for the Rohingyas, which are insufficient according to the demand. However, the animals we have received are being collected and sent wherever necessary. After the slaughter, the meat will be distributed under the supervision of camp in-charges with the help of local leaders."

The Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Humanity Acting Chairman Mohammad Jobayer said: "This will be the seventh Eid-ul-Azha we are observing in Bangladesh. When we were in Myanmar, we used to sacrifice 2-3 large cows. But we have not had that opportunity since coming here."
He added: "It is almost seven years now, but we still have no resolution. There is no joy in Eid for the Rohingyas. We are living a life of suffering in an open prison. Nevertheless, we hope that we might be able to celebrate Eid in our own country next year."
Bazlul Rahman, the Jadimura Shalban Rohingya Camp leader in Teknaf, said: "The authorities have assured that sacrificial animals will be delivered here by Sunday evening."
