The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three miscreants, including Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (Arsa) chief Ataullah Jununi's bodyguard, from the Rohingya camp in Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar.
The arrested are Abu Hashim 31, Hossain Johar alias Ali Johar 32, and Md Alam alias Shayer Musa 35.
During this time, two foreign weapons, one locally-made firearm, and four rounds of cartridges were seized from them.
RAB-15 Commanding Officer Lt Col HS Sazzad Hossain disclosed the information at a press briefing in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday.
Sazzad Hossain said: "On Sunday night, in the 20th extension Rohingya camp of Ukhiya, Cox's Bazar, a young man named Md Asadullah was shot and hacked to death by 10 to 15 unidentified miscreants. Following this murder, RAB-15 began their operation to arrest those involved. On Wednesday midnight, RAB conducted a special operation to detain three Arsa miscreants, including Arsa second-in-command Abul Hashim and a bodyguard of Arsa chief Ataullah Jununi.”
