Rohingya robber's bullet-ridden body recovered in Tekhnaf hills

Police recovered the bullet-ridden body of a top Rohingya dacoit in Teknaf hills Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased is Md Rafiq Prakash, son of Barmaya Yusuf of Leda Maulvipara area of Hnila Union in Teknaf.
Teknaf Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Osman Gani said: "I got to know from the locals that there was a shootout between two dacoit groups in the west of Alikhali Rohingya camp No. 25 in Teknaf's Hnila Union. On information, a police team and local people recovered the bullet-ridden body of a dacoit member named Rafiq.”

He also said: "Initially, it is known from the locals that there was a dispute between Rafiq and another robber group for a long time. It is believed that he was killed by a member of the bandit group.”

This police officer said that the deceased Rafiq was an active member of a known dacoit group. He is involved in multiple crimes including murder, robbery, and kidnapping. A report has been prepared and sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue.
