British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Robert Chatterton Dickson recently visited the Rohingya Camps in Cox’s Bazar to witness how the UKAid is helping provide emergency food, safe water and hygiene for the Rohingya refugees, according to a post shared by British High Commission in Dhaka on its official Facebook page on Tuesday.

Besides supporting vaccination campaigns for the children, the UK Aid is also helping to reunite traumatised children with parents, providing counselling and education for sexual violence survivors and protecting them from trafficking.

The UK’s contribution stands ready to reduce the impact of natural disasters and outbreaks of disease and strengthen the resilience of affected Rohingya people and the host communities.

As a part of that commitment, the High Commissioner visited the inter-agency Site Maintenance Engineering Project (SMEP) to observe preparedness and response plans by the UN agencies, local organisations and the government of Bangladesh.

Before returning to Dhaka, the British High Commissioner met Mohammad Abul Kalam, the Additional Secretary and the Commissioner of the Office of the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) to discuss the current situation in the Rohingya camps.UNB.
