Saudi Armed Forces General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwailihas meets with
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Ganabhaban residence in Dhaka on

He also praised Bangladesh's steps towards combating terrorism
Visiting Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the Saudi Armed Forces General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwailihas said Saudi Arabia will always be there beside Bangladesh over Rohingya issue.
“Saudi Arabia will continue extending support to Bangladesh over Rohingya issue,” he said during a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Ganabhaban residence in Dhaka on Thursday, reports UNB.
Al-Ruwaili highly appreciated the role of Bangladesh in Rohingya issue, said Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim while briefing reporters after the meeting.
The general mentioned the cooperation between Saudi and Bangladesh Armed Forces and said, it is being enhanced day by day.
Appreciating the training provided by the National Defence College (NDC) in Bangladesh, Rohingyathe Saudi chief of general staff said: "The training provided by the NDC is of high quality and we want to continue joining the training," he was quoted as saying.
Explaining Saudi Arabia’s position on Yemen issue the general said, "We do not want to go for aggression. We want peace."
He also praised Bangladesh's steps towards combating terrorism.
Al-Ruwaili expressed Saudi’s desire to join the celebration programs of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The prime minister said fraternal conflicts among the Muslim Ummah should be solved through discussions and negotiations. “The benefit of conflicts goes to the arms sellers,” she said.
The prime minister also said Bangladesh got provocation over the Rohingya issue. “But we want to resolve the issue through negotiation,” she was quoted as saying.
Mentioning that cooperation between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia will be strengthened further, Hasina said Saudi Arabia has a special place in the hearts of the people of Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina said the cooperation between Bangladesh Armed Forces and Saudi Armed Forces have been multi-dimensional for training and material supply, especially the support rendered for the development of various training institutions of Bangladesh Armed Forces.
About terrorism, the prime minister said the government is creating awareness to combat the menace engaging people from all spheres of society.
Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary MdNojibur Rahman, Principle Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division Lt Gen MdMahfuzur Rahman and Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh were present at the meeting.
