Rohingya mother appeals for her children to come home

SEREMBAN - A Rohingya mother is appealing to her two young daughters who apparently ran away to come home.

Hasina Begum Hassan, 31, said her daughters, Nurhidayah, eight, and Nurzahidah Zahid Hussain, 13, have been missing since Sunday (April 14).

"I believe they ran away after we had a minor misunderstanding As a mother, I want the best for my children. I never had ill intentions towards them," she said when met at her home in Taman Jujur here Wednesay (April 17).

Hasina lodged a missing persons report on Monday (April 15) after she failed to locate her daughters.

"I also sent text messages to them but haven't received any response," she said.

Hasina appealed to members of the public who had any information on her daughters to call her at 017-614 1653.

When contacted, Seremban deputy OCPD Supt Mohd. Rosli Ishak confirmed a report has been lodged. 

"Preliminary investigations showed the girls were scolded by their mother for not helping out with house work. They then packed their clothes in their school bags and left home," he said.

Supt Mohd Rosli urged those with information to contact the police at 06-603 3222
