Community Initiative Society and Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management officials visited Rohingya camps and host communities in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday, said a press release.

The CIS arranged the field visit at Hakimpara and Jamtoli Rohingya camps.

The APADM officials from Japan, Indonesia, Republic of Korea, Sri Lanka and the Philippines visited the camps and host communities.

The Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management officials visited the primary health care centre at Hakimpara camp on Wednesday. They also visited Comprehensive Primary Health Care Centre at Jamtoli camp.

Later, they held a meeting with the host community in Khurushkul of Cox’s Bazar.

Since the influx of the Rohingya refugees from Myanmar, which is a major humanitarian crisis in the offing, Dhaka Community Hospital Trust and CIS have been working in collaboration with organisations such as Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management, GEA of Turkey, MERCY Malaysia and Peace Winds Japan.

They have been providing emergency health services including mother and child health care, distribution of nutritional food packs, and public health campaign.

Till now, they served over two lakh Rohingya people.
