ဒေါ်စောမြရာဇာလင်း ဦးဆောင်သည့် ALP ကိုယ်စားလှယ်အဖွဲ့နှင့် စစ်ခေါင်းဆောင်တို့ ၂၀၂၂ ခုနှစ် ဇွန် ၁၃ ရက်က နေပြည်တော်တွင် တွေ့ဆုံစဉ်

ရခိုင်ပြည်လွတ်မြောက်ရေးပါတီ (ALP) အတွင်းက အကွဲအပြဲ ဇာတ်လမ်းမှာ ပို၍ ကြီးထွားလာခဲ့သည်။

ALP ပါတီတွင်း ခေါင်းဆောင်များကြား သဘောထားကွဲလွဲမှုများ၊ ညှိနှိုင်းမရမှုများ ဖြစ်ပေါ်နေချိန်အတွင်းမှာပင် မတ်လ ၂၀ ရက် မနက်ပိုင်းက ALP ၏ စည်းရုံးရေးနှင့် သတင်းပြန်ကြားရေး Facebook စာမျက်နှာတွင် ပါတီ ပြန်လည် ဖွဲ့စည်း ကြောင်း ထုတ်ပြန်ချက်တခု ဖော်ပြလာခဲ့သည်။

အသစ်ပြန်လည် ဖွဲ့စည်းလိုက်သည့် ALP ပါတီတွင် ဥက္ကဋ္ဌအဖြစ် ဒေါ်စောမြရာဇာလင်းက တာဝန်ယူထားပြီးအကြံ ပေး အဖွဲ့ဝင် ၂ ဦး၊ အဓိပတိ ကော်မတီအဖွဲ့ဝင် ၃ ဦး၊ အတွင်းရေးမှူးအဖွဲ့ဝင် ၄ ဦး၊ ဗဟိုကော်မတီဝင်များနှင့် အရံ ဗဟိုကော် မတီဝင်အပါအဝင် စုစုပေါင်းအဖွဲ့ဝင် ၂၈ ဦးဖြင့် ပြန်လည် ဖွဲ့စည်းထားသည်။

It has been nearly six years since the mass exodus of Rohingya refugees from Rakhine State; hundreds of thousands of the Rohingya had to flee their homes in the wake of the Myanmar army's brutal attempt at genocide -- with them eventually finding solace and shelter within the borders of Bangladesh.

Since then, Bangladesh has continued to display the highest levels of compassion and humanity, sheltering the now well over million Rohingya refugees, at great cost to its own resources. Nevertheless, while we have continued to do our duty, the long-term solution has always been one and one only -- the safe and dignified repatriation of the Rohingya refugees.

A delegation from Myanmar has returned home after verifying the information of about 500 Rohingyas who are in the process of repatriation in the refugee camps of Cox's Bazar.

The delegation left Bangladesh on a trawler through the Teknaf-Myanmar transit jetty at Jaliapara of Teknaf at around 10am on Wednesday.

The delegation comprising 17 members arrived in Bangladesh on March 15.

The delegation from the Myanmar Immigration Department returned to Myanmar on Wednesday without reaching any agreement on the Rohingya repatriation agenda.

"They returned to Myanmar via Jaliapara Jetty Ghat in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar, around 10.30am on Wednesday. The Myanmar delegation has collected details of 499 Rohingyas from 149 families during their visit. They met with the enlisted Rohingyas at Teknaf Shal Port and recorded their statements," Refugee, Relief and Repatriation Commission (RRRC) officials said.

Burma has said it is ready for the return, from mid-April, of a thousand Rohingya refugees to Bangladesh under a pilot repatriation programme, a spokesman for the ruling junta said. Zaw Min Tun, Wednesday, March 22. “We will welcome the returning population in accordance with the agreement between the two countries”he said, adding that the first repatriation would concern “about a thousand people”.

The 17-member Myanmar delegation, led by Aung Myo, the social welfare minister for Rakhine State, started interviewing Rohingyas, who are currently living in Cox’s Bazar camps, on March 15.

Cox's Bazar (Bangladesh) (AFP) – Rohingya refugees said they doubted Myanmar was offering a genuine return to their homeland, after Wednesday's conclusion of an official visit to Bangladesh ostensibly aimed at jumpstarting a stalled repatriation agreement.

A delegation of 17 officials from Myanmar's military regime met with around 480 refugees over the past week in a process brokered by China and partly facilitated by the United Nations.

YANGON, Myanmar — When the military seized power in a coup on the morning of Feb. 1, 2021, I grabbed some clothes and other essentials and stumbled out onto the streets of Yangon. I haven’t returned home since.

I lead a group of activists opposed to military rule of Myanmar, and I knew then that the soldiers would soon be coming for me. Since the coup, my colleagues and I have played cat and mouse with security forces in Yangon, Myanmar’s largest city. We organize nonviolent protests — small, quick demonstrations to remind the military that it is not in complete control and to give hope to our citizens.

A 22-member team of Myanmar immigration officials visited Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar to verify more than 400 Rohingya refugees as part of a pilot repatriation project. Does it hold out any hope for the forcibly displaced people to return to their ancestral homes in the Rakhine state of Myanmar? Only time will tell. However, the Beijing-mediated project could not start its work for the last three years for different reasons which include the covid pandemic of 2020 and military coup of 2o21.

The hungry and desperate are now much more so. Last month, the rations to Rohingya living in the world’s largest refugee camp – Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh – were slashed. Another drastic cut is due next month. This is, as a UN expert warned, a matter of life and death. The Rohingya have lived on a knife edge for too long.
