Deportations of Myanmar asylum seekers and the failure to act on Rohingya death camps are disheartening.

Malaysia has long sought to bolster its diplomatic stocks by exerting its religious credentials through the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and, closer to home, within ASEAN, where it has forged a troika with fellow Muslim countries Indonesia and Brunei.

The troika is an admirable club that emerged after the military in Myanmar, or Tatmadaw, inflicted an ethnic cleansing and alleged genocide against that country’s Muslim Rohingya community in 2017, resulting in more than 1.4 million of them now living in squalid camps in neighboring Bangladesh.

Criminals shot dead two Rohingya men after picking them up from their houses in the refugee camp of Ukhiya upazila in Cox's Bazar early today (October 27, 2022).

The deceased are Ayat Ullah (40) and Mohammad Yeasin (30).

With them, at least seven Rohingya men including a child were shot dead in Cox's Bazar this month.

Today's shooting took place at Block-C in Balukhali camp around 3:30am, said Syed Harun-or-Rashid, commanding officer of Armed Police Battalion-14.

The world has done “absolutely nothing” to ensure safety in Myanmar for its persecuted Rohingya minority, said Bangladesh’s foreign minister, complaining that his country is sheltering more than 1 million refugees without support.

Foreign minister Shahriar Alam told the Guardian financial support for the Rohingya has decreased each year and there has been no real progress towards repatriation in the five years since more than 700,000 fled massacres by Myanmar’s military. That wave, in August 2017, joined approximately 300,000 people that had already fled Myanmar because of previous security crackdowns.

The international community has failed the people of Myanmar since a military junta took power last year, the UN human rights rapporteur for the southeast Asian country said on Wednesday.

Myanmar has been in turmoil since the military coup, with swathes of the country engulfed by fighting.

More than 2,300 people have been killed in the military's crackdown on dissent since the coup, which rights groups say includes razing villages, mass extrajudicial killings and air strikes on civilians.

Two Rohingya man has been shot dead by a group of miscreants in the Kutupalong Rohingya camp of Ukhiya in Cox's Bazar.

စစ်ကျွန်ပညာရေး အလိုမရှိကြောင်း ဆန္ဒဖော်ထုတ်

မြန်မာ့ဆိုရှယ်လစ် လမ်းစဉ်ပါတီ (မဆလ) ခေတ် ဆိုရှယ်လစ်အမည်ခံ ဗဟိုထိန်းချုပ်မှုများတဲ့ ပညာရေးစနစ်ကို အဓိကနေရာကနေ ကူညီပံ့ပိုးပေးခဲ့သူ တဦးကတော့ ဒေါက်တာ ညီညီပဲ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

၁၉၇၆ ခုနှစ်မှာ ဒေါက်တာ ညီညီက “တက္ကသိုလ်ပညာရေး မြန်မာလိုသင်မည်” ဆိုတဲ့ ဆောင်းပါးတပုဒ် ရေးသား ခဲ့တယ်။ ဆောင်းပါးကတော့ ပုဂံတိုက်ထုတ် “စနစ်သစ်ပညာရေး” ဆိုတဲ့ စာအုပ်မှာ ပါတာပါ။ ထိုနှစ်ပိုင်းတွေက ထွက်ရှိတဲ့ စာအုပ်တွေရဲ့ ထုံးစံအတိုင်း အဲဒီစာအုပ်ဟာလည်း လက်ဝဲအငွေ့အသက်တွေ ပျံ့လွင့်လို့ နေပါတယ်။ အဆိုပါ ဆောင်းပါးထဲမှာ ပါဝင်တဲ့ ဒေါက်တာ ညီညီဆိုလိုတဲ့ အကြောင်းအရာတွေကို ခြုံငုံတင်ပြရမယ်ဆိုရင်အင်္ဂ လိပ်တွေဟာ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသားတို့ရဲ့ ဇာတိသွေး၊ ဇာတိမာန် တက်ကြွမလာအောင် ချိုးနှိမ်ထားလိုတဲ့အတွက်တက္က သိုလ်မှာ အင်္ဂလိပ်လို သင်ကြားစေခဲ့ခြင်း ဖြစ်တယ်။ တက္ကသိုလ်ပညာရပ်တွေကို မြန်မာဘာသာနဲ့ သင် ကြားမယ် ဆိုရင် မြန်မာတို့အနေနဲ့ အဆင့်မြင့် ပညာရပ်တွေကို ပိုမိုနားလည်လိမ့်မယ်လို့ ယူဆကြောင်း ရေးသားခဲ့ပါတယ်။

An Arakan Army (AA) military tribunal on Thursday sentenced two of its soldiers to 20 years in prison with hard labour plus flogging for raping a Muslim woman from Buthidaung Township, according to AA spokesman U Khaing Thukha.

The AA formed a court martial and carried out an investigation following a complaint from the victim. The two AA members were convicted of raping the 30-year-old woman at her home in Kyaung Taung Village-tract at gunpoint on October 1.

Syed Wahiduzzaman Diamond, a national film award winning director, directed the film which was entirely shot in Teknaf Rohingya camp and surrounding areas in southeastern Cox's Bazar district.

Bangladesh requests Libya to continue cooperation in Rohingya issue
