 အဖွဲ့ဝင် ၂၂ နိုင်ငံနဲ့ ဆွေးနွေးဖက်နိုင်ငံ ၉ နိုင်ငံ ပါဝင်တဲ့ IORA အိန္ဒိယသမုဒ္ဒရာ ဒေသတွင်းနိုင်ငံများအဖွဲ့မှာ အဖွဲ့ဝင်အဖြစ် မြန်မာနိုင်ငံရဲ့ လျှောက်ထားချက်ကို ဘင်္ဂလားဒေ့ရှ် နိုင်ငံက ပြင်းပြင်းထန်ထန် ကန့်ကွက်ခဲ့ ပါ တယ်။

Bangladesh today said the global leadership, especially South Asian partners, needs to do more to ensure quick repatriation of Rohingyas to their place of origin in Myanmar.

"It's the responsibility of the global leadership, especially our South Asian partners, to do more to ensure their quick return to Myanmar," the Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said.

The US wants to make big investments in Bangladesh -- in infrastructure, energy, as well as in strengthening Bangladesh’s institutions to improve governance -- under the Indo-Pacific Strategy (IPS).

“We discussed how we can improve foreign direct investments and expand American business in Bangladesh and help the country develop its ambitious goals. That was a significant part of the conversation,” said US Acting Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs Alice Wells.

The United States is seeking an expanded military relationship with Bangladesh under a security initiative that would help Dhaka build its maritime and border security capacity, Alice Wells, the U.S. acting assistant secretary of state for South and Central Asian Affairs, said here on Tuesday.

The Bay of Bengal Initiative, a new U.S. State Department program, involves foreign military financing that would build maritime and border security capacity for Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Maldives.

Mentioning that Rohingyas will have a better living in Bhashan Char once relocated there, Bangladesh on Tuesday said it will not force any of the displaced people to avail of the relocation opportunity.

Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen shared Bangladesh's position with visiting US acting assistant secretary Alice Wells during a meeting held at his office on Tuesday evening.

Dr Momen and the senior US official briefed reporters separately at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after the hour-long meeting, reports UNB.
