A 24-year-old Rohingya from Myanmar was arrested from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday for allegedly procuring a fake Indian passport and an Aadhaar card to travel to Indonesia from the national capital.

A teenager has spoken about being part of the Rohingya community in Bradford.

Sirazul Islam, who moved to the UK in 2008 and is currently preparing for his A-levels, campaigns to raise awareness for the plight of Rohingya people.

More than 700,000 Rohingya have left Myanmar since 2017 after fleeing the country's military crackdowns.

Mr Islam said people in Bradford had made him feel welcome and he wished "all of the Rohingya people had this opportunity".

YANGON–A village administrative official from northern Rakhine State’s Kyauktaw Township was arrested by army troops on Thursday.

U Thein Soe Aung, an official of Shwe Pyi village—about 8 kilometers north of Kyauktaw Township—was accused by the Myanmar Army, or Tatmadaw, of providing rations to Arakan Army (AA) rebels.

The Muslim community associated with Myanmar or former Burma, known as Rohingya Muslims are not indigenous to Myanmar. They are a relatively recent migrant community of Myanmar. Most of these Muslims are illicit immigrants who migrated from Muslim neighborhood regions of Bengal India during the British colonial period and later from East Pakistan or the present Bangladesh. The Myanmar government s of the past and present do not consider Rohingya Muslims as legitimate citizens of Myanmar. The people of Myanmar consider the Rohingya people as illegal immigrants. Myanmar’s Muslims account for an estimated 04% of the total Myanmar population of about 60 million. In 2012, there were about 800,000 Rohingya Muslims living in Rohang, the western state of Myanmar known officially as Rakhine or Arakan.
