Individuals responsible for alleged Rakhine atrocities will face justice: ICC

The people responsible for the alleged atrocities that forced hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims to flee from Myanmar's Rakhine state will be held to account, an International Criminal Court official said on Monday.

ဖမ်းဆီးခေါ်ဆောင်ခံရသူများမှာ ဦးမောင်ထွန်း (၄၂) နှစ်(ဘ) ဦးထွန်းအောင်ခိုင်၊ ဦးစိုးစိုးနိုင်(၃၃) နှစ် (ဘ) ဦးမောင်စောထွန်း၊ ကိုဇော်မင်းထွန်း (၂၀) နှစ် (ဘ) ဦးကျော်ဝင်းတင်၊ ကိုစည်သူအောင်(၁၉) နှစ် (ဘ) ဦးမောင်သောင်းအေး၊ ကိုဇောနိုင်ဌေး (၂၈) နှစ်(ဘ) ဦးမောင်ကျော်သာနှင့် ကိုထွန်းစိုးလင်း (၂၉) နှစ် (ဘ) ဦးညံ့သာအောင်တို့ ဖြစ်ကြသည်ဟု သိရှိရသည်။

A United Nations human rights investigator on Myanmar has on Monday voiced deep concern over a Bangladesh’ plan to relocating around 23,000 Rohingya refugees to a remote island in April, stating that it may not be suitable and could also create a potential “new crisis”.

A humanitarian crisis fuelled by the suppression of basic human rights is continuing across Myanmar’s Rakhine state, a UN Human Rights Council-appointed expert said on Monday, in an appeal for alleged atrocities there to be referred to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
