Police inBangladesh arrested three suspects believed to have links to an armed insurgent group among Rohingya refugees, as officials promised justice for the killers of a prominent Rohingya rights activist.

“The killers will certainly be brought to justice. None will be spared,” Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen said on Saturday, three days after the murder of Mohib Ullah, the head of the Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPH).

The Armed Police Battalion (APBn) has detained another Rohingya man in connection with the killing of Rohingya community leader Mohammad Mohib Ullah in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya.

Thirty-five-year-old Mohammad Ilias was taken into custody around noon on Sunday, said APBn Captain and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Haq.

The detainee will be questioned, he said.

Law enforcers have detained a total of five suspects over Mohib Ullah’s death.

A group of unidentified gunmen killed the 48-year-old Mohib Ullah at a refugee camp in Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya on Sept 30.

Over one million Rohingya refugees, who fled extreme persecution in Myanmar may now pose serious threat to regional and international security. According to a vernacular news portal, the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army or ARSA, which was formerly known as Harakahal-Yaqin has already turned into real nightmare to majority of the Rohingyas and Bangladeshi citizen.

Dhaka Post reporters Adnan Rahman and Joshim Uddin in their report said, Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) has already recruited over two thousand members from the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh, where it has approximately 150 female jihadists. Majority of the ARSA recruits are based in Kutupalong and Balukhali areas in Cox’s Bazar and Teknaf district.

On April 1, Indian authorities were greeted with a surprise when their request to deport a Rohingya girl was turned down by Myanmar.

Immigration officials in Myanmar refused to accept the 14-year-old girl on the ground that the border gate between the two countries had been shut for the last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation in their country was not suitable for the proceedings to take place.

The Rohingyas are a group of people who originated from Myanmar and have since fled to their neighboring Bangladesh for refuge. The Rohingyas, have been subject to an ethnic genocide in the predominantly Buddhist nation of Myanmar. They hail from the Rakhine state and are mostly Muslim. For many years, Rohingyas were left out of major elections, censuses, and unable to vote for several years prior. According to CNN, 87,000 Rohingyas left for Bangladesh on October 6, 2016, the first wave of the migration. This was sparked when a group of Rohingya men killed nine policemen at the Rakhine border, and the Myanmar military retaliated on the community.

According to statistics, there are over one million Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh who were driven out from Myanmar by its military regime. Ever-since genocide on Rohingyas began, members of this community had not only entered Bangladesh, thousands of them have illegally moved into a number of countries in Asian, Australian, African and European continent. In August 2017, the Myanmar military perpetrated a genocide on the Rohingyas, an ethnic group residing in Northern Rakhine. Large numbers of Rohingyas were killed, women and girls were raped, villages burnt and upwards of 800,000 men, women and children were driven out of their homes. They crossed the border into Bangladesh to save their lives and are now sheltered in camps in Teknaf and Ukhia, in the southern tip of Bangladesh.

Although this outrageous event was sort of a 'final solution', atrocities on Rohingyas have a long history. The first mass expulsion took place in 1977-78 when 250,000 were driven across the border. Most of them were sent back through negotiations. However, following the second mass expulsion in 1989-90, many of the 250,000 refugees could not be sent back. Meanwhile, the Burmese Citizenship Act of 1982 disenfranchised the Rohingyas of their citizenship. Under continued atrocities by the military and the local Rakhines led by extremist Buddhist monks, a slow exodus continued till 2016, when another 80,000 were expelled. At least 300,000 Rohingyas were displaced in Bangladesh before 2017.

YANGON — The United States has pledged to continue its support for Myanmar’s democratic transition and discussed cooperation on Rakhine State development, including creating a better environment for the Rohingya, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In a teleconference with Myanmar’s international cooperation minister, U Kyaw Tin, the outgoing deputy US secretary of state, Stephen Biegun, on Thursday, praised the Nov. 8 general election and discussed positive cooperation over Rakhine State, the ministry said.

The ministry said in a press release that U Kyaw Tin and Biegun discussed long-term cooperation in Rakhine State, including creating a better environment for refugees.

Sejumlah pegiat hak asasi manusia menyebut pemerintah Myanmar tidak berhenti melakukan genosida atau pembersihan etnis Rohingya meski negara itu sudah digugat di Mahkamah Internasional (ICJ).

အိန္ဒိယနဲ့ မြန်မာဟာ စစ်တွေဆိပ်ကမ်းကိုလည်း နောက်နှစ်မှာ အပြီး ပြီးစီးအောင် ဆောက်လုပ်ဖို့စီစဉ်နေပြီး Kolkata ဆိပ်ကမ်းကပို့တဲ့ ကုန်ပစ္စည်းတွေကို ကုလားတန်မြစ်ကိုအသုံပြုကာကုန်းတွင်းပိုင်းဖြစ်တဲ့အရှေ့မြောက် ဒေသကို တင်ပို့ဖို့ စီစဉ်ထားတာ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

ထိုင်း-မြန်မာ နယ်စပ် မဲဆောက်မြို့တွင် ဖမ်းမိခဲ့သည့် မြန်မာပြည်ပို့မည့် လက်နက်မျာအဲဒီသတင်းစာကြီး မှာ ဘဲ ဇွန်လ ၂၃ ရက်နေ့က ထိုင်း-မြန်မာ နယ်စပ် မဲဆောက်မြို့မှာ ဖမ်းဆီးမိခဲ့တဲ့ လက်နက်ခဲယမ်းမီးကျောက် တွေက လည်း ဒေါ်လာ တသန်းဖိုးခန့် တန်ဖိုးရှိပြီး ဒီလက်နက်တွေက ရခိုင်က AA နဲ့ အာရကန်ရိုဟင်ဂျာကယ် တင်ရေး တပ် (ARSA) ဆီကို ပို့ဖို့ရည်ရွယ်ခဲ့တာ ဖြစ်ကြောင်း ဖော်ပြထားပါတယ်။

ဒီလက်နက်တွေဟာ တရုတ်က ထုတ်တဲ့ လက်နက်တွေဖြစ်ပြီး ဒီလိုလက်နက်မှောင်ခိုသယ်ယူမှုတွေကြောင့် ဒေ သ တွင်း တည်ငြိမ်မှုကို အန္တရာယ်ရှိတဲ့ အပြင် ကုလားတန်စီမံကိန်းအပေါ်မှာလည်း ထိခိုက်သက်ရောက်မှု တွေ ရှိတယ်လို့ အိန္ဒိယနိုင်ငံက လုံခြုံရေးဆိုင်ရာ အရာရှိရဲ့ ပြောဆိုချက်ကို သတင်းစာမှာ ကိုးကား ဖော်ပြ ထားပါ တယ်။

တရုတ်ရဲ့ လက်တွေခြေတွေပါနေတယ်ဆိုရင်တော့ ကုလားတန် စီမံကိန်းဟာ တရုတ်ရဲ့ စီမံကိန်းဖြစ်တဲ့ တရုတ် -မြန်မာ စီးပွားရေး စင်္ကြန် (CMEC) ရဲ့ ကျောက်ဖြူစီမံကိန်းအတွက် ယှဉ်ပြိုင်ဘက်ဖြစ်နေလို့ပဲလို့ သတင်းမှာ သုံး သပ်သွားပါတယ်။

ထိုင်း-မြန်မာ နယ်စပ် မဲဆောက်မြို့တွင် ဖမ်းမိခဲ့သည့် မြန်မာပြည်ပို့မည့် လက်နက်မျာတကယ်တော့ တရုတ် ဟာ ဒီလိုပဲ အိန္ဒိယကို ဆန့်ကျင်တဲ့ လုပ်ရပ်တွေကို ၁၉၆၀ နဲ့ ၁၉၇၀ မှာ ပြုလုပ်ခဲ့ပြီး အိန္ဒိယနယ် အေ့ရှ မြောက်ဒေသ က လက်နက်ကိုင်သူပုန်တွေကို လက်နက်တွေပေးခဲ့တာ၊ သင်တန်းတွေပေးခဲ့တာတွေကို အရင် ကလည်း လုပ်ခဲ့ ဖူးကြောင်း ဖော်ပြခဲ့ပါတယ်။

တရုတ်အနေနဲ့ သူ့ရဲ့ CMEC စီမံကိန်းတွေကို အမြန်အကောင်အထည်ဖော်ပြီး ကုလားတန် စီမံကိန်းကို နောက် ကျအောင်၊ အလုပ်မဖြစ်အောင် ကပျက်ကရက် လုပ်နေတာဖြစ်ပြီး မြန်မာကိုလည်း ကုလားတန် စီမံကိန်းဟာ အ လုပ်မဖြစ်ကြောင်းပြပြီး ဒီဒေသမှာ လုံခြုံရေး အရခက်ခဲအောင် လုပ်နေတာဖြစ်တယ်လို့ နိုင်ငံတကာ လုံခြုံ ရေး ကို လေ့လာတဲ့ Gateway House ကလေ့လာသူ Sameer Patil က Hindustan Times သတင်းစာကို ပြောကြား ထားပါတယ်။
